Students,
Here is proof that former Journalism I and Devil's Advocate students often leave for bigger and better things (in the world of journalism)!!!!!
Antonia Robinson (c/0 2002) is staff writer with The Harwell Sun, a paper in Hartwell, Ga.
Recently, the Hart County Board of Education nominated her for the Georgia School Boards Association Beacon Award. It recognizes media representatives whose coverage over time has created understanding of education issues and how it relates to the schools, students and communities.
Antonia has only been covering education since last October, so acording to her this is a real honor to be nominated so soon.
"Even if I don't win, I'm very excited," said Antonia. "This is one step closer to becoming an education beat reporter or BOE communications director. And it all started at the Devil's Advocate Newspaper."
Morgan Henley (c/0 2008) is a sports reporter at The Daily Gamecock, a paper published at the University of South Carolina.
Morgan recently joined the staff and published her first piece on lacrosse. Here is the link: http://media.www.dailygamecock.com/media/storage/paper247/news/2008/09/09/Sports/Lacrosse.Team.Sets.Sights.On.Clemson.Tournament-3420999.shtml
More news and info to come!
