Student’s role in school safety is reporting things like fights, and illegal business. Media, parents, and administrators should send proper messages so when in situations students will make the right decisions. Stanton's security and students maintain safety. They relate because everyone works hard, and the school remains a safe environment.

Student’s role is influencing students to make good decisions, and reporting actions possibly leading to violence. Media, parents, and administrators, should make announcements about bad violence and show good signals for teens to make the correct decisions. At SCP, their role is keeping violence non-occurring and making sure the students are safe. They relate because they both help keep students protected and with no harmful actions are occurring.

Student's role in maintianing a safe learning environment is making wise choices and helping other students make those same choices. The media should be reporting the "warning signs" that were presented in these situations; Parents and administrators should make note of any unusual behavior. SCP's faculty connects with the students and keeps the students safe with the security it provides.

A student's role in safety is crucial to keeping violence to a minimum at school. They need to not provoke or encourage others to fight, and need to report fights when they hear about them. The media, in my opinion, does not set a good example for students. The media, in some ways, can even encourage violence. Instead, the media should encourage non-violence, and provide examples of other ways to solve a problem. Parents have the most important role. They should teach their children that violence is not the way to solve things. They need to raise them in this mind set, and then maybe they will live that way too. Also, parents are responsible for their children's environment. If the kids were raised in a violent environment at home, they are more than likely to become violent themselves. The administrators should also set their school in a non-violent environment. They should encourage their student to not fight, and if they have a problem, to talk to a teacher about it. The safety stucture at Stanton is very good. We have a police officer that seems to pop up everywhere around the campus. We also have a security guy that patrols the halls and makes sure that everyone is safe. He is kind of like a body guard for the school. This is connected, because, for the most part, all of these components are working, and our school is a safe place to be.

Violence in schools is often unplanned and a spur of the moment idea. However in some cases, most recently the shootings in Finland things are pre-planned. A student’s role is to report bullying, and an administrator’s role is to listen. Chalking bullying up to it's part of growing up only allows the situation to get worse. For the most part Stanton is a safe place, and hopefully everyone will continue to do their part and keep it that way.

20% of schools in the US have some sort of violent crime take place each year. Students should recognize when a classmate is going through an emotional period and tell administrators if they feel like anything violent might occur from this. Parents and administrators should play an active role in students lives.

Providing a safe structure for sudents, is the reponsibility of the county and school administrations, getting input from Jacksonville's Sheriff Department. Once that structure is in place, each student plays a critical role in maintaining a safe environment. 3000 eyes are more valuable than 200 eyes. The media should alert the school of any danger in the immediate vicinity, as well as inform the public of any inadequacies before and after any problem. Parents owe it to their children to maintain a precence at school and to be aware and involved with all aspects of their child's environment. The police fufill their responsibility by providing counsel to the adminstration, providing a visible presence as a deterant and actualizing any arrest as needed.

Students play a very important role in keeping a safe school enviroment becasue it is there job to report someone if they threaten them. The administration should do all they can to ensure a safe enviroment for students. The media should get the information out in a very timely manner to parents when something happens at a school that has endangered the students. Also, it is the parents responsibility to talk to their child(ren) and find out what is happening at school. Stanton has a very safe enviroment. I think this is due to the security and the attitudes of the students that go there. Most students at Stanton are interested in academics and everyone works hard and supports each other.

Student's role in making a safe enviroment is stoping whatever they hear or see when the teachers are not looking. Things like drug dealing, fights, and things like that can be stopped by telling a teacher or princaple what happened and where. Another way that students can keep a safe school is if something happens then let your parents know and if the teachers dont take you seriously then they will take your parents serously. So, can the media do anything? Yes, school administrations dont want their school all over the news on a big fight or any other violence so if the media reports them on the news then that would also make the administration be more careful to watch for fights or they might try more than they previously did to prevent these things to happen.

The student's role in the safety of our schools is being aware of their surroundings. If they see that a student is in need psychologically, it is their responsibility to refer him/her to a counselor. The media should be aware of what is being broadcasted, and be sure not to condone violence as a healthy form of communication.

I think that student have nearly everything to do with having a safe environment. It's up to students to report any unsafe and potentially life threatening situations. Teachers and faculty should also be on the lookout for anything unusual, but that's pretty much all they can do. The rest is up to student to help keep themselves and the fellow classmates safe

A student’s role is to keep an eye out for any activity made by a student that could lead to any dangerous or violent behavior. If a student suspects another student is thinking about or planning a dangerous event they have the responsibility to report them. The media, parents, and administration all should encourage students to pay attention to each other and try to prevent violence. They relate because the student’s attitudes are positive and they communicate that to each other so in turn there is less negativity and less violence.

Violence in schools is intolerable and not welcome. It is a student's job to report possibly deadly actions to the proper administrators. It doesn't matter if you are scared, afraid to lose them as a friend, or anything. It is YOUR duty to protect your other peers. Imagine if someone was hurt because you didn't report the perpetrator when you originally saw them leaning towards a violent path. It is also the role of parents to intervene in their child's life, should they see it fit. At Stanton, we are blessed to have a relatively safe populus within our school (though I can't say the same of the area around the school.) Our students are educated and have the right thinking to know what is wrong, and who to report unwanted behaviors to.
