II. Read and review the Course Curriculum and the Course Orientation Notes materials; obtain a parent signature on both items and return to class. DUE 8/27/10
III. Obtain your course materials. DUE NEXT WEEK
IV. Work on your Writing Assignment (Diagnostic Essay: The News Debate); submit a hard copy (ICC) and a copy to http://www.turnitin.com/ (TIINC) DUE 8/27/10*

V. Register at http://www.turnitin.com/; use the provided registration sheets. DUE 8/25/10VII. Visit the class blog and become familiar with it. Look at the links and the other ‘bells and whistles’ that I have added to the site.
VIII. Familiarize yourself with current events from this week (8/22/10 to 8/28/10); your first Current Events Quiz (CEQ) will be administered NEXT WEEK.
IX. Obtain a textbook (Journalism Today) from Mrs. Epps in the bookroom (i.e. the back of the auditorium); you must have this book by 8/27/10. Go to the bookroom during your lunch period.

DAILY ASSIGNMENTS*

II. Study chapter vocabulary. In addition, students should prepare to work on additional in-class vocabulary assignments by reviewing words nightly. For test/quiz dates see calendar in class or upcoming dates post. To prepare for the in-class study and tests/quizzes, students are encouraged to create 3x5 study cards. STANDARD [JV1]
III. Bring Materials/Supplies to class; this includes textbooks, steno pads, paper, pens, notebooks, writing journals, etc. (NO EXCEPTIONS)
