I. Register in the correct online course on www.turnitin.com and www.schoology.com. Use the information on page 6 of the curriculum paper. DUE ASAP

II. Read and review the Journalism 1 Course Curriculum Paper. Have questions ready for 8/21/13. Get parent signature on the document. DUE 8/23/13

III. Acquire course materials on the course materials list (see curriculum paper). DUE 8/27/13


IV. Visit www.schoology.com to download and print a copy of the Course Policies Guide. Have questions ready for 8/21/13. Get parent signature on the document. DUE 8/23/13


V. Visit www.equilibria.com to complete and print (in color if possible) their Personality Diversity Index (E-Color Profile) for 2013-2014. DUE 8/23/13


VI. Complete the reading and analysis of the Qualities of a Journalist; fill in the chart and prepare to discuss it in class. DUE 8/23/13

VII. Read and outline Chapter 1 (The History of American Media); use the outline format guide and upload it to www.turnitin.com when completed. DUE 8/27/13

 I. Review Chapter 1 topics/concepts. Read the outline, supplemental notes, and create study note cards. LEARN THE MATERIAL...DON'T MEMORIZE IT.*

II. Study chapter vocabulary. In addition, students should prepare to work on additional in-class vocabulary assignments by reviewing words nightly. For test/quiz dates see calendar in class or upcoming dates post. To prepare for the in-class study and tests/quizzes, students are encouraged to create 3x5 study cards. STANDARD [JV1]

III. Bring Materials/Supplies to class; this includes textbooks, steno pads, paper, pens, notebooks, writing journals, etc. (NO EXCEPTIONS)
